ENTRACTE project consortium bid farewell at Brussels Conference

September 29, 2015

On September 25, 2015 the ENTRACTE consortium held its final conference on "European Climate Policy - Insights and Interactions" in Brussels organized by its project partner EnvEcon. The goal of this final event was to provide policy insights generated from the research work and to discuss them with an excellent line-up of internationally recognised leaders in climate policy and climate research.

The one day event focused upon presenting concise policy relevant messages and evidence from the completed research project, and thereby facilitating discussion and networking amongst high-level stakeholders and policy makers across a range of clearly defined subjects.

The conference was introduced by the scientific coordinator Andreas Löschel, University of Münster & Centre for European Economic Research, and continued with six sessions around key topics, such as European climate policy interactions, the role of the ETS and stimulating innovation. Each session was presented by one partner of the project consortium, namely Denny Ellermann from EnvEcon, Ralf Martin from Imperial College London, Elena Verdolini from Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, Antoine Dechezleprêtre from London School of Economics and coordinator Oliver Schenker from Centre for European Economic Research, and closed with a discussion on each topic involving speakers and panellists. The conference finished with a response from Jos Delbeke, Director-general of the Directorate-General for Climate Action (CLIMA) at the European Commission.

This high-level event was followed by a drinks and canapés reception right after the conference for further discussion and networking at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Brussels.
